ConAct was opened in October 2001 as an institution of the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth with the support of the states of Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It operates in Lutherstadt Wittenberg under the auspices of the Protestant Academy of Saxony-Anhalt.
